How to Find a New England B&B
Posted by fsReview on 10/23/08 in Travel
Are you unsure of where to start looking for New England bed and breakfasts? It’s easy to find B&Bs online, in the phonebook, and by word of mouth. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
- Do a Google search. Google now typically gives you search results based on your area, which is determined by looking at your IP address. So if you search on Google for “bed and breakfasts,” the ads and some of the top listings will probably be in your area. You can also narrow your search by including the state or city — for instance, “Maine bed and breakfast” or “Connecticut inns.”
- Use a B&B directory or website. Just like there are websites for booking airline reservations, there are some websites, sometimes state-specific, that list bed and breakfasts in the area.
- Check with the city. If you want to stay in a city that is a popular tourist or vacation destination, check out the city’s website. They may have a page with listings of local inns and B&Bs.
- Search the Yellow Pages. You can do this either online or in an actual phone book. Using the Yellow Pages website enables you to utilize the search feature, but sometimes the listings in the actual phone book are easier to browse if you just want to look through an entire category.
