The Moving Experience

Moving is never a great experience because of the packing and unpacking and the mess to follow trying to make your house tidy and organized again. I realized how much I disliked unpacking last year when we moved from Florida to Gulfport for my husbands work. We ended up having Gulfport Dominos pizza every night for a week while we were sorting through things and trying to straighten out our lives again.
Let me explain what happened and why we had to eat Gulfport pizza for the week. You see, my husband helped with the packing and guess which room he volunteered to take? That’s right, the kitchen! Unknown to me, he decided that since many of the kitchen items were small, he would save space and pack a few utensils in one box and a pan in the other to save space. Well, it took almost the entire week to open and search through all our boxes to find everything we needed to cook again.
Although I love my husband dearly and appreciate his willingness to be a help to me, I have realized that some things are better left for me to handle in the future. The next time, if we move again, I will make sure to pack the kitchen myself so we can get our kitchen up and running faster. Thanks to the Gulfport Dominos, we made it through and learned a very valuable lesson about communication skills.
