What are the Differences Between an HMO and a PPO?

I was trying to select the right insurance for my family but I was getting so confused by which type of Florida health insurance plan is best for us.  We have 3 small children so it was very important that we choose a plan that was low-cost and accepted our family’s pediatrician.  If we had to worry about satisfying a deductible for each person in our family, it could get very costly.

I began looking online and found a site for a FL health insurance broker who not only clarified which plan was best for us but what benefits were associated with each type of plan.  I was able to see which Doctors were accepted by each carrier and better understand the benefits of an HMO and a PPO.  To my surprise, based on our needs it winds up that an HMO was the best choice for us right now.  It would allow us to see our selected pediatrician and we would not be responsible for a costly deductible.

Now that we are insured, we don’t have to feel so worried that we will suffer financial hardship if we have a medical emergency.  Therefore, if someone doesn’t have access to one of the Florida group health insurance plans, it is definitely worthwhile to check into individual coverage.
